About us

I love being outdoors and I'm happiest hillwalking, skiing or surfing. It goes without saying that I also LOVE dogs.

I have several years' experience working with many different types of dogs (and owners) teaching fun agility, building a bond between dog and owner doing something they both enjoy.

Having worked in office-based financial services and investment jobs since leaving school, redundancy has given me the escape to start a business doing what I love - being outside with dogs all day!

I have two rescue dogs - Border Collie Cara and mixed breed (Collie x Labrador x Jack Russell x Chihuahua - yes, really!) Piper. They are both challenging dogs in different ways and were the inspiration for the name Misfits.

Cara came with multiple issues including reactivity to people and fear of almost everything. Years of patience and gentle training have helped her massively, and she competes with me at agility, where she has proved everyone wrong and won all the way up to Grade 7 (of 7). She also holds trick dog titles, does scent work and has bagged 14 Munros (so far)!

Piper joined the clan in 2016, at six months old from an unsuitable home and with no training other than housetraining. Being part terrier, she's been a handful but has come on leaps and bounds and will start her agility competition career soon. She's yet to bag her first Munro but she's getting lots of training in the Pentlands.
